The Swimming Gala was an anticipated event in Concord College. It is another part of the highly competitive Inter-House Competition. There were many events available, from team relays to individual swimming.
Before the events began, the pool was already packed with students and teachers. They cheered for friends, classmates, and housemates. When the events started, the crowds were more enthusiastic. Stress and end-of-holiday exhaustion did not dampen the energy of both the participants and crowds. When the records were broken and victories were won, the crowds cheered happily. The commentary of the commenter made the excitement and tension levels high.
In the end, Pankhurst and Mandela wound up with the same points from the events. The podium went to Pankhurst because they had achieved the most winnings. Teresa was third, and last but not least was Gandhi. Even though they did not win everything, all showed great sportsmanship.
Personally I think that the Swimming Gala is a great opportunity for students to come together and compete for their houses. It gives students opportunity to temporarily leave their worries behind before they take exams.
