Activity 2

1. Work individually!

2. Procedures should be brief and clear. Most procedures begin with imperatives and followed by some elaborations. Why are the elaborations for? For the reader to understand what the procedure is about (Semua jawaban benar karena bersifat opini). 

3. Complete the following text with the suitable imperatives! Pay attention to the sequence!

Materials needed:

- An ironing board.

- A clean iron (without rust or burnt starch because that ruins clothes).

- A bit of water, preferably in a spray bottle.

Methods:

1. Position the board. Your dominant hand should be on the side where the square end of the board is.

2. Plug the iron in. Turn on the iron and set it to the appropriate heat. Take a look your shirt. There is clothing care instruction. Here is a small guide: high heat (cotton, linen), medium hea (wool, flannel, silk, cashmere), low-medium (polyester), and low (nylon, acetate, acrylic).

3. Place the shirt on the board and spray some water on it. The water in the spray bottle essentially helps soften up your clothes.

4. Pop the collar. Starting from the inside, sweep back and forth from one side of the collar to the other. Repeat on the other side.

5. Unbutton the cuffs. On the inside of the cuff, start from the middle, and work your way out. Iron around the button. Repeat this on the other cuff.

6. Smooth out the front. On the square of the ironing board, lay the front side of your shirt. Starting from the top part of the shirt, work your down. Again, iron around the buttons. They could leave a mark if you iron over them.

7. Smooth out the back. Be sure to have the shirt open (back side up).

8. Iron the sleeves. Lay them flat on the board and doing the one side at a time.

9. Hang the shirt. It is to let the shirt to fully cool down.
