Penglipuran Village is a traditional countryside that has a unique social and cultural life. This is one of the interesting places in Bali, located in Kubu Village, Bangli. The natural environment and (1) rural village design can reduce the touch of the influence of modernization. Penglipuran is located around 700 meters above (2) sealevel that makes this village's atmosphere cool.

According to the history of all old doyens, this countryside was taken from the word 'pengeling pura', which means (3) remembering the ancestors. However, some say that the word 'penglipur means entertainer. In the previous kingdom era, all kings often used this area as a place to entertain themselves.
